Want an alternative to cooking a whole turkey in your oven this Holiday Season?! Boy, do I have the solution for you!!!!!! Buy a delicious turkey breast and cook it in your slow cooker! It's SOOOOOOOOO easy, won't take up that precious oven space, and will be incredibly moist and suculent!
Have I convinced you yet? This is really a no muss, no fuss recipe! If you want to stuff it, please do so! I have a delicious stuffing recipe you can use, or just use a box of Stove Top! Your family will just appreciate you taking the time to make them a home made meal!
The size of the slow cooker needed to make this recipe varies on the size of your breast. I cooked a 7lb. breast and I needed my 6.5 Quart Slow Cooker.
Traditional Turkey Breast
Ingredients:
7 lb. or less Turkey Breast (I used my 6.5 Quart Slow Cooker for this)
1/2 stick butter, cut into lots of pieces
Olive Oil
Rub:
2 tsp. Garlic Powder
1 tsp. Onion Powder
1 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Pepper
1 tsp. Poultry Seasoning
Directions:
Mix together your rub and cut up your butter. Remove the gizzards and rinse your Turkey Breast. Pat it dry and then place it into your slow cooker. Rub it down with olive oil and then sprinkle all over with the rub. If you are stuffing your breast, stuff it now. Here's my recipe for Sweet and Savory Stuffing. (I stuffed the neck cavity as well.) Place your butter squares all over your Turkey. Cover and cook on LOW for 10 hours or on HIGH for 5 hours. Serve with some delicious sides! Make your own gravy out of the drippings if you would like. Most importantly, ENJOY!!!!
