'Hot for Teacher' Student Loses Lawsuit Against Oakland University

Former student's lusty writings drew suspension from Oakland University.

A judge ruled last week that a former Oakland University student suspended in 2012 for writing a lusty essay called "Hot for Teacher" has no First Amendment right to express his sexual attraction to his instructor, according to an AP report.

Joseph Corlett's lawsuit against the university was dismissed last week by U.S. District Judge Patrick Duggan, the report indicated. 

According to the report, Corlett, 57, referred to his teacher as "'stacked' and used graphic verbiage to compare her to the character Ginger from TV's Gilligan's Island

"Such expressions, while possibly appropriate in some settings, need not be tolerated by university officials," the judge said on July 23.

The "Hot for Teacher" essay shares the name of a Van Halen song.
