Watch Sheriff's Deputies Chase Driver Through Apartment Complex

A man accused of stealing sweatshirts led Oakland County Sheriff's deputies on a low-speed chase through a Rochester Hills residential community Tuesday, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

According to the department, deputies arrived at Kohl's, 3035 S. Rochester Road, for a report of a man having stolen some items from the store. When they arrived, the deputies saw the man fleeing the scene in his white Plymouth Voyager, leading the deputies on a low-speed pursuit.

The driver pulled his minivan into a residential community near Woodview and Hampton, where his route was blocked by oncoming deputies' vehicles. Deputies then chased the man on foot through a nearby wooded lot before eventually being caught and taken into custody.

According to the department, the man was found to be wearing several stolen sweatshirts. He was taken to Oakland County Jail pending arraignment on charges stemming from the incident.

No injuries or property damage were reported in the pursuit.
