Home Care 101 – Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

Is Home Care expensive?

Home Care is often a more affordable option than assisted living for individuals in need of just a bit of care throughout the day.  Pricing is determined by the type of Home Care required. There are two types of Home Care offered by Crittenton Home Care, Private Duty and Certified.

  • Private Duty Home Care prices vary based on the need of each client. Our Private Duty Division offers care from House Call visits and non-clinical companionship to long-term clinical or non-clinical care.
  • Certified Home Care is physician-referred and is covered by most insurance companies and Medicare. Check your insurance policy to determine your co-pay or deductible to find out what your fees will be.

Many individuals utilize home care services for transportation and help around the house, allowing them to live in their home or place of residence longer. Home Care can also be a great support to caregivers in need of assistance while they are away from the home.

Insurance will cover Certified Home Care that is referred by your physician. It is important to ask your physician about Home Care when being discharged from the hospital or after a procedure. Many times, if you think it will be difficult to leave your home, your physician can request Home Care to come to your place of residence to assist you with your medical and personal care needs.

Long Term Care Insurance, Auto Insurance and Workers’ Compensation cover the cost of Private Duty Home Care. Many clients are also able to use Veteran’s Benefits for Private Duty Home Care services. Crittenton Home Care works with each client to customize their care plan and give them the care they need. Home Care is just for seniors, right?

Home Care is a benefit to individuals at any age in need of assistance in the home. Certified Home Care can be referred by a physician to patients recovering from surgery, new mothers, those in need of IV therapy and those with an acute onset of chronic illnesses.

Private Duty Home Care services are ideal for aging adults and family members with disabilities or chronic conditions who may need medication reminders, personal care or companionship.
