About Paul

Paul Haig, owner of Haig's of Rochester, is both a stone cutter and collector. From the beginning, he has worked with only natural gemstones, including opal, a speciality of his unequaled by other area jewelers.

In addition to jewelry, Haig is also an avid collector of Asian antiques -- an interest inspired by his family's love for Asian art and culture. He and his wife's private antique Asian art collection gave rise to Haig Galleries in the 1990s.

In 2005, Haig Jewelers and Haig Galleries merged to form Haig's of Rochester Fine Jewelry & Objects of Art.

Haig’s of Rochester Fine Jewelry & Objects of Art is one of Rochester, Michigan’s, largest family-owned jewelry stores and antique galleries. With a solid reputation for providing quality gemstones and jewelry, unique finds, dependable repair services and award-winning jewelry designs, Haig’s of Rochester is a trusted name in jewelry and has been a favorite shopping destination since 1973.

Haig’s of Rochester blends the beauty of fine jewelry with the bold designs of exotic antiques in a warm and inviting shop on Main Street in historic downtown Rochester. From contemporary, custom and antique/estate jewelry to antique Asian ceramics, prints and textiles, Haig’s of Rochester offers exquisite, one-of-a-kind jewelry and museum-quality objects of art.

Haig is an active member of the local and regional community, having volunteered and served on numerous boards and advisory groups including Oakland University's College of Arts and Sciences and the Detroit Insitute of Arts' Friends of Asian Art. He frequently gives lectures to schools, community groups and at antique shows across the country on such topics as Lessons in Stone Cutting, Jewelry Care & Cleaning, Appraising & Evaluating Antique/Estate Jewelry, Opal, Conflict Diamonds, Appraising & Evaluating Antique Chinese Textiles and more.
