I've run off and on since I was in high school, but I didn't run consistently and didn't get very serious about it until late 2008. I didn't really begin to think of myself as a runner until sometime in 2009, and I started entering some local races in 2010. I had run a few 5K (3.1 mile) races over the years, but my times weren't that great and my first race in 2010 was a new personal record (PR) by nearly three minutes.

I ran my first half marathon (13.1 miles) in May 2011, my second in July 2011, and I'll be running the Brooksie Way half marathon in Rochester Hills on October 2 where I hope to set a new half marathon PR.

Besides running on the roads and trails in the Rochester and Rochester Hills areas, my hobbies include photography, attending concerts, and watching sporting events.
