2,000 Pain Pills Stolen From Rochester Hills Pharmacy

Video footage shows the thieves using a crowbar to pry open the door of a medical center building.

Detectives on Monday planned to review surveillance video from a weekend pharmacy break-in at a medical building in Rochester Hills. The incident happened at the WellPointe Medical Center, on the corner of South Boulevard and Dequindre, across from Troy's Beaumont Hospital.  According to a report from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, an employee of the building discovered the break-in on Saturday morning. When sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, they found the door to the pharmacy had been pried open; pharmacy employees later guessed about 2,000 Hydrocodone and Tylenol pills were stolen, the report stated.  A surveillance video for the building shows two subjects prying the front door to the building with a crowbar, then running …

A lot more crime in town these days... I see men loitering on many local corners sitting in their cars and such for extended periods of time. I won't frequent Rite Aid or speedway at Tienken and Rochester roads as of late due to the cars and people standing around listening to music or standing around smoking. Makes me uneasy to say the least   more ›

Woman Reports Apartment Break-In Near Rochester Municipal Park

Nothing was missing, victim told police.

A Rochester resident returned from work last Saturday morning to find that someone had broken into her apartment. According to a report from the Rochester Police Department, the 35-year-old resident, who lived in an apartment in the 1000 block of Ironwood, left for work at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3. When she returned at 7:40 a.m. the following morning, she found her door ajar, the report stated. No items were reported stolen, but a book on her desk had been moved, she told police.  There are no suspects, and the incident remains under investigation.

Man Watches on Remote Camera as Intruders Walk Through Oakland Township Home

Police respond to the scene and find the door kicked in but no one inside.

An Oakland Township resident who was watching over his Snell Road home from a remote camera while he was away phoned police for help when he saw two intruders, on camera, walking through his house.  The incident happened Friday afternoon, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report. The homeowner in the 900 block of Snell Road near Valley View reported the possible break-in at 1 p.m., the report stated. When deputies arrived on the scene they found a door kicked. The did not find any suspects inside the home; the forensics lab from the sheriff's office was called in to help process the scene.
