Today from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Taco Bell is making good on their "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" promotion.  The national fast-food chain, with over 6,000 restaurants including one on Rochester Road, promised one free Dorito Loco Taco to each customer if any player managed to steal a base during the World Series. During Game 2 San Francisco Giant Angel Pagan did just that. And now, deprived of a World Series championship, at least we have free tacos. Just try not to cry in your salsa. No purchase necessary. Detroit Tigers Merchandise Sales Spike Amid World Series Run

Tigers gear flies off store shelves, outsells World Series opponent's wares.

The Detroit Tigers return home this weekend for Game 3 of the World Series down 0-2 against the San Francisco Giants, but the team's merchandise sales continue to ride a hot streak. The Tigers are No. 2 in Major League Baseball in merchandise sales, behind the New York Yankees, whom the Tigers swept in the American League Championship Series, and just ahead of the Giants, according to the Detroit News. The sales give the Tigers an 11 percent market share of MLB merchandise sales, compared with the Yankees' 33 percent and the Giants' 7 percent, the report said.  Employees at Fanatic U say the biggest sellers amongst Tigers merch has been the locker room T-shirts players sported after winning the ALCS, and the official playoff hoodies worn …

Detroit Tigers Clinch AL Pennant, Advance to World Series

The Tigers last played in the World Series in 2006 and took the title in 1984.

The Detroit Tigers are headed to the World Series for the first time since 2006, seeking their first championship since 1984.  The Tigers swept the New York Yankees on Thursday in a 8-1 Game 4 win in the teams' best-of-seven American League Championship Series to advance to the World Series. Game 4 originally was scheduled for Wednesday night, but threats of inclement weather postponed the start time until 4:07 p.m. Thursday.  The World Series begins Oct. 24 in a best-of-seven series against the winner of the National League Championship Series, currently under way between the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants. Coke.... Delmon is a very, very close second. But for Coke to come in and close like he did to send the Yankees packing, very, very impressive. 3rd MVP is split up between JV, Max, Fister and Sanchez. What dominating performances by our starting 4 horsemen. If you would've said before the series started the Tigers would sweep NY, only give up 6 runs in 4 games and win the last game lopsided at 8-…   more ›
