MI Great Artist Competition Voting Starts Today

Everyone can visit MIGreatArtist.com and vote for their favorites among more than 120 entries by artists around the region.

More than 120 artists who live, work, or go to school in the Economic Growth Alliance (EGA) region submitted works for the MI Great Artist competition, and online voting starts today.  Voting at MIGreatArtist.com will continue through Aug. 17 and is open to anyone.  Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and Park West Gallery Founder/CEO Albert Scaglione launched the contest at the Southfield gallery last month as another premier quality of life event for the region. “Some great works of art were submitted to the MIGreatArtist website,” Patterson said. “We encourage the artists and their supporters to use their social media to encourage votes not just locally but from around the world.” The top 20 artists will be posted at …

Are You Michigan's Next Great Artist?

The MIGreatArtist competition opens Friday to residents of Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Genessee, Lapeer and St. Clair counties.

A new arts competition launching Friday aims to showcase the works of great artists in a six-county southeast Michigan region.  Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and Park West Gallery CEO Albert Scaglione announced the MIGreatArtist competition during a press conference held Wednesday at the Southfield gallery. Scaglione said any artist who is serious about his or her work should consider entering. "This is for you," he said. "You don't need to have any prior history of exhibiting. This is how talent gets discovered ...
