A teen-ager was cited for possession of marijuana.
A vehicle that smelled like marijuana parked in a Rochester Hills park prompted police to investigate on Saturday night. The incident happened at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Borden Park. The park was closed; Oakland County Sheriff's deputies found two vehicles parked there and "a strong odor of marijuana was coming from one of the vehicles," according to a sheriff's office report. A K-9 search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, and a 17-year-old Shelby Township resident was cited and released for possession of the substance, according to the report.

The patrol car he was driving was rear-ended on Rochester Road, according to a police report.
A 13-year veteran of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office was injured Monday night in an accident on Rochester Road in Rochester Hills. The deputy was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Troy where he was treated and released, according to a report from the sheriff's office. The incident happened at 6:38 p.m. Monday; the deputy was driving south on Rochester Road and getting ready to turn right onto Drexelgate when the patrol car he was driving was struck from behind, the report stated. The driver of the car that hit the deputy was a 42-year-old Hartland Township resident; he was not injured and was cited for causing the accident, the report stated.

The sheriff's office, Oakland Schools and the county's Homeland Security division will collaborate on the training program.
Teachers and school staff in Rochester and across Oakland County will receive expert training in the next two months on how to react in an active school shooter situation. County officials said Friday that the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and the county's Homeland Security Division will conduct five training sessions for school personnel starting in two weeks. In addition, Sheriff Michael Bouchard will give active shooter presentations on site at various schools in the county. Bouchard has received numerous requests for the presentations, he said. The sheriff's office was there responding to a complaint about a large party, according to a police report.
An Oakland Country Sheriff's patrol unit received a large dent to the front fender early Saturday morning at the Red Roof Inn on Crooks Road, according to a police report. The vehicle was parked at the Inn while deputies responded to a large party complaint. A 36-year-old male resident of Sterling Heights, not related to the party, hit the patrol unit while attempting to back out of a parking spot, according to the report. The deputy was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash. According to the police report, the driver of the suspect vehicle had been drinking and had a suspended license. He was lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

Man was struck by a car while he was crossing Rochester Road on Friday afternoon.
A 58-year-old Rochester Hills man is in serious condition at an area hospital after being struck by a car while riding a bike across Rochester Road south of Auburn on Friday afternoon. According to a report from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the man was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck. A crosswalk and working traffic signals were in the area of the crash, the report stated. The driver of the car that struck the man was a 79-year-old resident of Rochester Hills, the report stated. The driver was leaving a private property and attempting to turn left onto northbound Rochester and struck the bicyclist while attempting to turn, the report stated. Investigators say the Pontiac man robbed Meijer and a Sunoco gas station in the city.
A 50-year-old Pontiac man is facing two felony robbery charges after investigators connected him this week with two recent robberies in Rochester Hills. The Auburn Hills Police Department stopped a vehicle on Oct. 3 that matched the description of one involved in an unarmed robbery on Sept. 30 at the Meijer store on Adams Road in Rochester Hills. According to a news release from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, investigators then connected the man to a strong-armed robbery that occured on Sept. 28. at a Sunoco Gas Station in Rochester Hills. A 21-year-old Rochester Hills man was captured by police early Monday morning after causing a disturbance at a Rochester Hills apartment complex and then fleeing police in a red truck. Charges against the man are pending, according to a report from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were called to an apartment complex on Village Green Boulevard at 1:08 a.m. Monday because of "unwanted subjects near the tennis courts," the report stated. An Oakland County Sheriff's officer was forced to shoot and kill his K-9 dog Thursday when the dog, who was being treated for aggression, attacked him during an appointment with a veterinarian. In a statement, Sheriff Michael Bouchard called the dog's death an "extremely sad situation on every front." "These dogs are more than a police asset, they are beloved members of the department and the handler’s family," Bouchard stated. The 5-year-old purebred German Shepherd named Gunner had been a member of the department since 2007. A man mistook a bank driveway for the road his friend lived on and crashed his Toyota Solaris into the brick wall of the bank before walking with his two passengers to a home nearby to reported the car stolen, Oakland County Sheriff's deputies report. Not toentipn that when the doors are closed and locked all the time every time a child goes to the washroom s/he has to knock then be let in. That isn't a big deal, but the constant repetition of that action ingrains an automatic response of opening the door to a knock, which isn't the response you want to be automatic.
