Michigan Humane Society Donates Pet Oxygen Masks to Rochester Hills Fire Department

O2 Fur Life pet oxygen masks donated in honor of Fire Safety Month.

More than 40,000 pets nationally die each year due to house fires, according to Marie Skladd, Director of Community Outreach for the Michigan Humane Society. To help reduce those losses, and in honor of October Fire Safety Month, the Humane Society donated four O2 Fur Life pet oxygen masks to the Rochester Hills Fire Department. "This is a big benefit to the department," Fire Chief Ron Crowell said. "We do appreciate this." Mayor Bryan Barnett said the masks were an important tool in making the Rochester Hills Fire Department full-service. "Pets are an important part of our community," Barnett said.
