Detroit Tigers Merchandise Sales Spike Amid World Series Run

The Detroit Tigers return home this weekend for Game 3 of the World Series down 0-2 against the San Francisco Giants, but the team's merchandise sales continue to ride a hot streak. The Tigers are No. 2 in Major League Baseball in merchandise sales, behind the New York Yankees, whom the Tigers swept in the American League Championship Series, and just ahead of the Giants, according to the Detroit News. The sales give the Tigers an 11 percent market share of MLB merchandise sales, compared with the Yankees' 33 percent and the Giants' 7 percent, the report said.  Employees at Fanatic U say the biggest sellers amongst Tigers merch has been the locker room T-shirts players sported after winning the ALCS, and the official playoff hoodies worn …

Detroit Tigers' World Series Tickets Pricey, But on Steady Decline

Looking for tickets to the World Series? Watch ticket trends before buying.

Tigers mania has reached a fever pitch in Metro Detroit as the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants do battle in the World Series. Fans eager to be a part of the live action, however, might have to dip deep into their savings when buying tickets. According to Crain's Detroit Business, the average ticket price for Games 3, 4 and 5 at Comerica Park are about $730. But, Crain's reports, the prices have plummeted in the past week and a half: On ticket reseller StubHub.com, the cheapest tickets during the homestand are $375 for a single standing-room-only spot for Game 3 or Game 5. Those looking to be able to sit down during the game, however, will have to pay upwards of $400 for bleacher seats, or $500 for reserved seats.  On Craigslist, …

Detroit Tigers Clinch AL Pennant, Advance to World Series

The Detroit Tigers are headed to the World Series for the first time since 2006, seeking their first championship since 1984.  The Tigers swept the New York Yankees on Thursday in a 8-1 Game 4 win in the teams' best-of-seven American League Championship Series to advance to the World Series. Coke.... Delmon is a very, very close second. But for Coke to come in and close like he did to send the Yankees packing, very, very impressive. 3rd MVP is split up between JV, Max, Fister and Sanchez.
