Here's an easy way to search the 2012 Michigan Department of Education data to find results for local schools.
The Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) measures progress in subjects such as math, reading, writing, science and social studies for third through ninth-graders throughout the state. Using the pull-down menu above, you can search by school district and school to find out what percentage of students were deemed proficient in those subjects -- meaning they met or exceeded standards set by the state. Note: You will need to be on the desktop version of Patch to use the tool. For more about the MEAP results, read Rochester MEAP Results at a Glance: Improvements in Math, Writing.
