Where the Coyotes Are in Rochester, Rochester Hills

On the Rochester Patch Facebook page, resident Karen Oberst recently posted the following warning: "ATTENTION PET OWNERS: Keep an eye on your pets ... I was informed that there are have been coyote sightings in Rochester Hills. One of my facebook friends saw one in her back yard Friday morning!" It's true: coyotes are a part of the wildlife in Rochester Hills. According to Rochester Hills Naturalist Lance DeVoe, the Rochester area has always had coyotes, and probably always will. There was a nesting pair of Sharp-shinned Hawks last year on Romeo . I also observed a deer walking down Romeo at dusk, and 3 at 7-11 at sunrise. There is still may species of wildlife in the area, albeit in different areas than in the past.   more ›
