School Board to Hear Budget Cut Recommendations — And How They Will Impact Students

Rochester school district administration team expected to suggest elimination of five teacher positions, among $4.7 million in proposed cutbacks.

The Rochester Board of Education will hear from the school district's administration team tonight about suggestions for cutbacks during the 2012-13 school year. The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the Harrison Room of the Rochester School Administration Building. Faced with a budget deficit that will be between $8.7 million and $9.5 million, leaders of Rochester Community Schools are studying which programs will need to be cut or scaled back next year. Board of Education members have instructed administrators to suggest budget cutbacks that are between $3.5 million and $6.1 million. Oh yeah you are so right Allison. Our superintendent needs to go sooner than later. Pruneau was not the best but he was better than what we have now.   more ›
