Musson Elementary, Home of Mustangs, is one of 13 elementary schools in the Rochester Community SchoolsMore district. Principal Victoria Righter leads the staff of more than 50 teachers and support staff. The school offers both half-day and all day/alternate day kindergarten, K-Club and before and after-school care.

 

Musson has a large playground, soccer area and baseball field. The school has an active Parent Teacher Association and hosts an ice cream social in the spring. The school participates in Junior Great Books, Authors in April,  as well as the Reflections visual and performance arts contest.

St. John Lutheran School is affiliated with St. John Lutheran Church and has won many awards for its academicMore excellence, including receiving the designation of "Outstanding Elementary School." Its students have participated in national spelling and geography bees, and its Future City Club has won nationals twice. Its facilities include SMART board-equipped classrooms and a state-of-the-art media center. The school offers full- and half-day kindergarten, and onsite extended care is available for all students from 7am - 8:15am and 3:40pm - 6pm.
Lowry Center for Early Childhood Education

Located in the lower level of Oakland University's Pawley Hall in a state-of-the-art facility designed by teachers,More the Lowry Center for Early Childhood Education provides young children with an exemplary education in a caring, nurturing environment. As an NAEYC Accredited school, Lowry consistently meets and exceeds the rigorous requirements for accreditation. All lead teachers have at least a master's degree and assistant teachers have a bachelor's degree, at minimum. All teachers participate in continuing education and classroom helpers are almost all OU students completing degrees in education.

Though Lowry has only been in Pawley Hall since 2002, the preschool has been in operation in Rochester Hills since the late 1960's. It prides itself not only in its project-based curriculum, cutting-edge facilities and experienced staff members, but also in its community involvement and close-knit community feel. Lowry also offers tuition assistance for low-income families with CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents In School), which provides tuition discounts of up to 85 percent and GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program), which provides up to four free days of pre-kindergarten for families who meet certain eligibility requirements.

Lowry offers full-day and half-day programs for toddlers, young pre-schoolers, pre-schoolers and pre-kindergarteners, from 18 months through five years old. They also offer before and after care from 7:30am - 9am and from 4pm - 5:30pm for an additional fee.
