One of three traditional high schools in the Rochester Community Schools District, Adams is home to the Highlanders and is immersed in Scottish tradition. It features a performing arts center that seats more than 500, a football field with artificial turf and a diverse offering of classes and vocational studies.
Veterinary science, computer aided design, food and nutrition, lifeguard training and music appreciation are some of the hundreds of courses students can experience at the school.
Kevin Cumming has led the school as principal since 2011.
Home of the Vikings, Van Hoosen Middle School is located on Adams Road, north of Tienken and next to Adams High…More School. Principal Steve Cook leads a staff of 70 teachers and support staff. Approximately 765 students, grades six through eight, have a six-period day, including homeroom, four academic classes and two electives. Students are offered a variety of after-school activities, including enrichment classes, intramural sports, after-school care and athletics.
