Here's where Kochenderfer's stands:
Roads: "We must maintain roads in the least disruptive manner. That includes continual evaluation of roads’ quality, a review of how we prioritize maintenance, and innovative solutions that will not drain city finances."
Controlling government costs: "It is critical that Rochester Hills maintain its AAA bond rating. We must scrutinize every budget line item, analyze every bid contract, and justify every dollar spent to find new efficiencies at City Hall. In addition, our city’s success depends on harnessing the skills, ideas, and knowledge of our residents. It is time to forge new communication channels that give residents more opportunities to voice concerns and contribute solutions."
Growing job opportunities: "We must do everything we can to ensure Rochester Hills is the best place in Michigan to do business. City regulatory services should be focused on helping businesses grow by quickening the permit process, streamlining required filings, assisting compliance, and promoting our talented workforce."
