One of four Lutheran high schools in the Detroit area, LHNW opened in 1978 in Farmington Hills. Since then, the school has moved from Birmingham and back to Farmington Hills before establishing its current location overlooking M-59 in Rochester Hills in 1987. To immerse students in the community, they must volunteer 20 service hours around town each year in order to advance to the next grade. Home of the Crusaders, the school has a strong tradition of academics and athletics, as well as an active parent network board and alumni base.
