1. St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival

The popular Australian indie-rock festival makes its U.S. debut Saturday, Sept. 14, at Meadow Brook Music Festival in Rochester Hills. 2. Rochester City Council meets tonight

The Rochester City Council will consider a proposed agreement with Jordan Development Company for the leasing of gas and oil rights in the city at its 7 p.m. meeting today. The meeting will be held at City Hall, 400 Sixth St. in Rochester. View the full agenda here.

3. Rochester Hills’ summer tax bills due Sept. 16

Summer 2013 tax bills can be paid without penalty through Sept. 16 in Rochester Hills. You can reach the city’s treasury department at (248) 656-4675.

4. Plan coffee with Rochester mayor

Want to tell Rochester Mayor Stuart Bikson what’s on your mind? Join the mayor for coffee at 4 p.m. on Sept. 18 at the library at the Older Persons’ Commission, 650 Letica in Rochester.

5. PAWS for Reading at Rochester Hills Public Library

Join Lucy, a friendly Newfoundland dog, and her trainer, Liz, for a special read-along time in the youth room of the Rochester Hills Public Library from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday. All reading levels are welcome. Call (248) 650-7140 to schedule a 15-minute appointment.
