MOMS Club of Rochester Raising Funds to Dig 2 Wells in Liberia

Oct. 1 fundraiser seeks funds to provide clean water to those in need.

The MOMS Club of Rochester is looking to make a difference by helping to provide clean water where it is in need.

The group is looking to raise $8,000 to dig two clean water wells in Liberia through the nonprofit Generosity Water, an organization that digs wells around the world for communities in dire need, Lindsey VanDaele of the MOMS Club said in an email.

"We were able to raise $8,000 last year and dig two wells in Ethiopia," VanDaele said.

The Divas Dancing to Make a Difference event, which is open to women only, is Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. at Main Street Billiards, 215 S. Main St. in Rochester.

"There is such a need around the world for access to clean water, but more specifically in Liberia," VanDaele said. "Two thirds of the people in the country live on less than a dollar a day and without access to clean water. I try to think what life would be like if I happened to be born there instead of here, but honestly, I can't even imagine."
