Day 13: Holiday Helpers Giving Tree at City Hall

The Holiday Helpers of Rochester Hills does just that: it helps families in Rochester Hills through the holidays. A giving tree at Rochester Hills City Hall is decorated with tags that feature wishes of local families.

According to Mayor Bryan Barnett, a business came in recently and pulled all of the ornament tags from the tree to purchase those gifts; just Monday, the tree was re-stocked with new wishes.

Each ornament includes a first name and a family number along with sizes and wishes. All gifts need to be returned, wrapped, no later than Friday.

"To all the residents who open their hearts, you have our gratitude and our love," reads a statement on the Holiday Helpers website. "Please join is by taking a card off the tree this year, it is not only rewarding, but you will be assured that your gift will stay in the city you reside in to help one of our own."
