There is a misconception out there about selling your home during the Winter/Holiday months. Some people will tell you to not even bother and wait until spring/summer to list your home. While the warmer months are a great time to sell don't discount the winter months either. Here are a few reasons to list during this time:

Less Competition
People believe the myth that the summer months are the best time to list. By putting your home up for sale in the winter you'll stand out because the inventory of homes will be so low. This could equal a higher selling price!

Serious Buyers

In the summer months you have a lot of "tire kickers" going to look at houses. They are the people that go look at your house but really have no intention of buying. Well the colder temps in the winter seem to drive the "tire kickers" into hibernation for the winter. What your left with is the serious buyers in the market. So you may have fewer showings but the ones you do have are more likely to buy.

Your House Looks Great

White snow on the ground and all of your holiday decorations up make your home look like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Now is the time to showcase it!

January is Transfer Month
Traditionally January is the biggest month for corporate transfers. These are serious buyers that need a home ASAP!

Don't feel that you should have to wait 6 more months before you can sell your home and move on to the next chapter of your life.  Consider listing your house now!
