Make 2013 a Year of Optimal Health

Along with proper exercise and nutrition, there are some additional items you can do to optimize your health.

Do you want to plan to make 2013 a year of optimal health?  Along with proper exercise and nutrition, there are some additional items you can do to optimize your health.

Reduce your exposure to toxic chemicals

It’s amazing the negative impact that toxins can have on our bodies.  In today's environment, our bodies can accumulate a ton of toxins.  Toxins are found in our food, skincare, soaps, cars, new furniture, plastics, fertilizers, water; the list can go on and on.  All of these toxins take a toll on our liver, kidneys and GI.

As someone who has encountered health issues as a result of toxins, I am living proof that they can add up and become harmful.

There are currently over 80,000 chemicals registered in the United States.  Out of those registered, the EPA has been able to require testing for just 200.  That means most of the chemicals in the skin care and soap that you use daily and in the furniture that you sit on daily has not been tested for their health and safety!

Toxic Burden

Each of us has a “total body burden” – referring to the total amount of chemicals that are present in your body at a given point in time. Chemicals vary on when they breakdown.  Some lodge in our bodies for a short period, others can remain in our blood, cells, tissues and organs for years.  The continuous chemical exposure can create a “persistent” body burden.  My doctor calls it the bucket theory.  Once our chemical bucket fills up and starts to overflow, we can become sick.  Is your toxic bucket beginning to overflow?
