Movies in the Moonlight Set to Begin on July 13

Hollywood movie stars will grace downtown Rochester this weekend—on the big screen, anyway.

Downtown Rochester's Movies in the Moonlight returns July 13 for its 12th year with four consecutive weeks of family-friendly films outdoors beneath the stars and titular moonright.

The event is located in the parking lot at the corner of E. Third and Water, one block east of Main. Featured movies begin at dusk—approximately 9:15 p.m.—and pre-shows start at 8:30 p.m.

Admission is free, so guests are urged to arrive early for the best seating.  Attendees must provide their own chairs or blankets. Popcorn, candy, hot dogs and soft drinks will be available for purchase at the Rochester Lions Club concession wagon, but attendees are welcome to bring their own goodies, too. Alcohol is not permitted.

Stephanie Hellebuyck, events coordinator at the Rochester Downtown Development Authority, says the event draws about 500-1,000 people each Saturday night.
