Rochester’s third Annual Great American Bake Sale will roll out on Saturday, running from 8 a.m.-noon. The event will take place at the upper lot of the Downtown Rochester Farmers’ Market located on E. Third Street.
This community-wide bake sale will raise funds for the Rochester Regional Service Collaboration which benefits Blessings in a Backpack, Community Kitchen and the Rochester Area Neighborhood House. The Rochester Regional Service Collaboration was launched by Rochester area youth, nonprofit leaders and individuals dedicated to see those in need assisted and thriving in the community.
“More than 17 million kids in America are at risk of hunger,” said Stephanie Hellebuyck, events coordinator of the Rochester Downtown Development Authority. “Some of these kids live right in our community, so it’s important to support the wonderful organizations that help them. Together, we can make a difference in our community.”
Currently, over 150 dozen baked goods have been pledged. Those interested in donating have until Monday, Aug. 12, and can sign up by visiting www.DowntownRochesterMI.com.
Drop off of baked goods will be held at 308 ½ Main on Friday, Aug. 16 from 8 a.m.– 7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 17 from 6-8 a.m. at the event location. All baked items left unsold at the end of the event will be donated to the Rochester Community Kitchen.
