Rochester Hills Runners Among Top Boston Marathon Finishers

Mike Morgan finished in 13th place overall. Desiree Linden may still hold the record for the fastest time ever for an American woman in the Boston Marathon.

Two Rochester Hills runners – Mike Morgan and Desiree Linden – were among the first runners to cross the finish line in their divisions in Monday’s Boston Marathon.

Morgan ran in the elite division, finishing in 13th place overall with a time of 2:14:40, and Linden came in 46th overall and 10th in the women’s division with a time of 2:23:54, The Oakland Press reports.

Both runners were part of the Hansons Brooks Distance Project team and were among 180 Oakland County residents who ran the Marathon this year.

“It was really impressive to see how high he finished,” Brendan Gregg, who works with Morgan at Hansons Running Shop, told the newspaper. “... He has been working hard for many years. It’s great to see him continue to run good performance after good performance every time he runs in a marathon.”

Linden, who finished second in the Boston Marathon three years ago, may still hold the fastest time ever for an American woman in the race.
