The competitive cheerleaders at are No. 1 in the state, according to rankings released this week by the Michigan High School Competitive Cheer organization.
and are also ranked in the Top 10 in the Division I rankings.

- 4. Hudsonville
- 5. Hartland
- 6. East Kentwood
- 7. Adams
- 8. Stoney Creek (tie)
- 8. West Ottawa (tie)
- 10. Lake Orion
All three Rochester high schools have a longstanding cheer tradition; Rochester has won the state Division I title six out of the past 10 years; Stoney Creek won the state title in 2010. Last year, all three teams advanced to the regional competition.
This year, districts will be held at Troy Athens High School on Feb. 18.
