School Bus Manager Durham Apologizes to Parents for 'Inconveniences' This Week

In an email message to Rochester Community Schools parents Wednesday, Durham School Services says it is revisiting its contingency plans for bad weather.

The following email from Brad Tate, regional operations manager for Durham School Services, was sent to Rochester Community Schools parents on Wednesday afternoon.

The email references busing issues Wednesday morning; although school was in session, some buses were late or not operating at all and parents were not all notified of the delays or cancellations of service.

The email reads as follows:

"Speaking on behalf of Durham School Services, I wish to apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced during the morning and afternoon of Tuesday, January 29. We regret that we were unable to communicate information in a fashion that allowed you to receive accurate and timely updates on the pick-up and delivery of your child or children.

"We are revisiting our current contingency plans for inclement weather and will implement steps to improve our effectiveness in these situations.
