Rochester Schools Rate Custodians: See How Your School Compares

An update on GCA Educational Services, which manages the district's custodians, is on the agenda at tonight's Board of Education meeting.

Members of the Rochester Schools Board of Education will hear an update tonight from GCA Educational Services on their performance in the month of September. The district contracted with GCA for the first time this school year to manage custodians and the three high school grounds positions. 

Schools were able to score the company through a report card process in September. An aggregate average score of 84.43 percent was received for the company's first month of service.

The highest score was received by University Hills Elementary with 96.11 percent. The lowest was received by Rochester High School with 75 percent.

Below is a complete list of scores with the exception of Hamlin Elementary, which did not submit a report card.

The district has a three-year contract with GCA. The company employs 32,000 people in 45 states; they manage custodians in serveral area school districts, including Birmingham and Royal Oak.

The board of education meets at 7 p.m. in the Harrison Room of the School Administration Building. The meeting is open to the public. Also on the agenda: a study session on secondary assessment data.
