Rochester Hills Students Get Behind the Camera at Hospital for Video Project

The fifth-graders recently traveled to Beaumont Hospital to interview a top doctor for a project.

Fifth-graders from Brooklands Elementary School received a hands-on lesson in video production - and an inside look at Beaumont Hospital - when they traveled recently to Royal Oak to interview the hospital's chief of surgery.

Dr. Alan Koffron is also a leader of the Multi-Organ Transplant Team at Beaumont; the students are producing a video to raise organ donor awareness and interviewed Koffron, along with an organ donor and recipient, about the subject.

The students are part of a group called Destination Imagination, which encourages kids to solve open-ended challenges and present their solution at competitions. The video, according to a representative from Beaumont Hospital, will be shared with the Secretary of State's office and other organizations.
