Following a marathon special meeting of the Board of Education, the pool of candidates was narrowed to three.
Rochester Board of Education members cut the pool of superintendent candidates in half Thursday night, deciding on three candidates to invite back next week for tours and interviews.

Moore is assistant superintendent for instruction for Rochester Community Schools.
Richards is superintendent of Imlay City Schools. Board member Chuck Coutteau described him as "very motivated ... excited and passionate."

Clarke is superintendent of Albion Public Schools. He had the unanimous support of the board.
"I thought that he had a style that fit with this board and staff," said board president Barb Cenko.
Board members also considered Paul DeAngelis, deputy superintendent for educational services in Birmingham. Board members Coutteau and Beth Talbert voted for DeAngelis.
