Hundreds Receive Free Health, Wellness Screenings During Community Event

The Back-to-School bonanza brought together doctors, dentists and other helpers in the Rochester and Rochester Hills area.

More than 380 children received health physicals, along with dental, vision and hearing screenings, during a free health clinic organized by KidzKare earlier this month.

It was the first-ever Back-to-School Bonanza, and organizers declared it a success.

In conjunction with Kidz1st Pediatrics, KidzKare organizes community groups to come together to provide health and wellness services to children in need in the community.

"For some local children, participating in the event means they will be able to see, hear, and feel better before they start back to school this fall," said Kathy Campbell, an organizer of the event. "Every child that had a physical, hearing, vision or dental problem discovered at the event was referred to a local physician to further their care and be provided a solution."

The event was partially funded by aand a gift from the Rochester Junior Women’s Club.
