Ford Test-Drive Event Raises Funds for Avondale Schools

Huntington Ford in Rochester Hills donates $2,960 to Avondale district.

Patrick Scoggin, president and owner of Huntington Ford in Rochester Hills presented a check for $2,960 to Avondale Schools for the recently completed Ford Drive One 4 UR School event.

This widely popular test-drive program allowed Ford Motor Company and Huntington Ford to partner with Avondale’s Education Foundation and local community members to “get behind the wheel” of the new Ford vehicles and raise funds for the school by test-driving an eligible Ford product. More than 140 people participated in the event, and for each driver from a unique household, Ford Motor Company and Huntington Ford donated $20 to the school.

Participants in the recent check ceremony and organizers of the event included (standing from left to right): Dr. George Heitch, School Superintendent, Patrick Scoggin, Huntington Ford, and Tom DelPup, of the Avondale Education Foundation.

“I am very proud of this program that supports our local schools and community and, at the same time, allows people to drive our exciting new products.” Scoggin said. “The parents and teachers at Avondale are a great group and really get behind this program to make it such a success.”

Since the start of the program in 2007, Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School events have raised more than $16 million for hundreds of high schools across the country.  The funds raised during the Drive One 4 UR School program have helped fund many extracurricular activities, helping to ensure that these programs continue in the local communities.
