Rochester PTA Council Hosts Annual Founder's Day Event

On February 15, 2011, PTA Council will host its annual Founder’s Day Celebration which honors three extraordinary volunteers from each school in the Rochester Community Schools district.  Five additional honorees will receive special awards for their accomplishments that have made a difference on the district level. This year’s special honorees include North Hill Elementary principal Michael Behrmann, Robin Ingram, Francine Heatley, Annette Testa-Young, and Kim Williams.

The evening will include musical entertainment by students, award presentations, a raffle and a keynote address by Rubel Shelly, PhD, President of Rochester College.  Proceeds from ticket sales and the raffle go directly toward the PTA Council Scholarship Fund which benefits graduating seniors every year with four $1000.00 scholarships.

All of the 20 schools’ PTA units provide donations for the raffle.  Past prizes have included spa packages, sports ticket packages, play/musical/ice show tickets, limo packages, jewelry, and other high-end gifts.
