History of American Travel Writing and Stories from the Road

Max Grinnell, traveler and author of Rough Guide: Chicago and, Frommer’s 24 Great Walks in Chicago will entertain you with stories of his travels and tips on how to make your travel as success. Also on the agenda, the history of travel writing, and how Dwight D. Eisenhower and Duncan Hines helped withthe boom in American tourism in the 20th century. 

Grinnell is also sponsoring a writing contest. You can download a copy of the contest rules when registering online or request a copy of the rules if you choose to register by phone. The contest must be completed and emailed to Mr. Grinnell by October 27.

Max Grinnell will judge all entries and first, second and third prize will be awarded the evening of the program.
