Community Conversation About School Funding Legislation

Rochester Community Schools receives the majority of its funding from the State of Michigan. The amount of funding is determined annually when the Michigan Legislature and Governor agree upon and adopt the state budget.

Governor Snyder has released his proposal. The House and Senate are working on their proposals. The district has invited Senator Jim Marleau and Representative Tom McMillin to join the conversation by telling the district how they view the current proposals and where they think the budget is heading. Attendees will also learn more about the Rochester Community Schools budget and how the budget decisions in Lansing impact the district's ability to deliver a quality education.

Following the presentations, audience members will have the opportunity to comment and ask questions.
