I Meet a Marketing Mastermind!

A person's most valuable resource is their time, let alone a professional's undivided attention, at their office and of their own accord.

I dared to introduce myself to a friend-of-a-friend in an effort to meet another Rochester citizen and business owner, not only to learn more about her but to ask for her advice on Karmagora.

I met with Marilyn Trent, owner of Trent Design in downtown Rochester.  She's also on the board of the Rochester Downtown Development Authority and its chair for the Green City Committee. Needless to say Marilyn knows her way around Rochester. She generously provided the meeting place and espresso; I brought muffins from Half Day Cafe.  

During our conversation I was surprised with the creativity she possessed, especially after discussing some of her recent projects and her expansion of her expansion into an office in Detroit. With her unique talent and understanding of local government, I shared our plans for Karmagora with her in hopes of some honest criticism and tips on how to catch the eye of local leaders, citizens and organizations.

Marilyn provided some great feedback on our ideas, but what I was most excited about was the potential to highlight local businesses and merchants in our effort. Just as with the Rochester Downtown December Dash, where we advertised local businesses on our shirts in an effort to bolster the community, I believe there is an opportunity to do the same with Karmagora.
