Deer Crashes, Oil and Christmas Parade On City Council Agendas

Rochester Hills and Rochester leaders both meet at 7 tonight.

Rochester Hills City Council members will hear from the Deer Management Advisory Committee tonight. The presentation will include an update on deer crashes in the city and recommendations for managing the deer population in 2013.

Also under new business on the Rochester Hills agenda is a request for consideration and approval of an oil and gas lease with Jordan Development Company. Four areas within the city are under consideration for oil and gas exploration, as sonar detection systems have indicated oil may exist in these locations:

  • Adams/Tienken (2 areas)
  • Tienken/Livernois
  • Tienken/Sheldon

(See the attached letter from Mayor Bryan Barnett about the oil and gas lease.)
