It's Official: Livernois Bridge Now Closed Until November

Seek out an alternate route when crossing the Livernois bridge over the Clinton River in Rochester Hills.

Construction season continues in the Rochester area, as a section of Livernois Road is now closed. Effective Monday, July 9, work has begun on the bridge over the Clinton River between Avon and Hamlin roads in Rochester Hills.

RCOC will begin replacing the bridge Monday, and the road will then remain closed at the bridge until the project is completed in November.

Those who need to accesss homes, businesses and churches on Livernois between Avon and Hamlin must enter Livernois from the Hamlin end the segement of road.

The detour route for Livernois through traffic will be Avon Road to Rochester Road to Hamlin Road and back to Livernois and vice versa.

Agreed! I drove over the bridge on Sunday and noticed the right turn lane is blocked just like it was before they replaced the bridge. What gives??

The RH turn lane from Avon (W.bound) to Livernois North is still blocked ... Reason they are installing the guard rails on the RH side of Avon just short of the RH turn.. Hope this will be finished soon...

For the duration of the bridge closure, why not either turn off the traffic light at Drexelgate & Livernois (& replace it with a 4-way stop) or put the light on flashing yellow/red? I see people waiting a long time to make a left from Drexelgate to southbound Livernois & I can't imagine what bona fide traffic rationale there is for that. Just wastes gas.

Government at it's finest! Let's first take 2 years to complete a construction job, while at the same time use resources on other projects before this one is complete.
