Filing Deadline Approaching for Rochester Hills Candidates

Deadline to file for Rochester Hills seats is May 14.

The filing deadline for Rochester Hills candidates is 4 p.m. on May 14 for several open seats for the Aug. 6 primary and Nov. 5 general election.

The following seats will be elected:

1 - City Council member at large — four-year term

2 - City Council district members:

  • District 1 - four-year Term
  • District 4 — four-year Term

2 Library Board members — 6-Year Terms

The withdrawal deadline is 4 p.m. on May 17. At that time, the city will prepare the official list of candidates and addresses.

Candidates must be a registered elector in the City of Rochester Hills, have residency of at least one year prior to filing deadline, not be in default of payment of any tax or other obligation owed to the city and file nominating positions of not less than 50 and not more than 75 valid signatures of registered voters in the city or district where the candidate is running. District candidates must also reside in the district where they are aiming to run.

Library board candidates must submit petitions with signatures of at least 40 and no more than 100 signatures.
