'When Will the Bridge Open?' Here's that Answer and a Few More

We're talking about the Livernois Bridge in Rochester Hills (and Crooks Road and Main Street, too).

When Rochester Hill Mayor Bryan Barnett met with some Boy Scouts on Monday evening the first question they had was, "When will the bridge be opening?"

When telling this story at Monday night's city council meeting Barnett laughed and said, "They don't even drive yet and they're asking so you know it's a major concern for our community."

According to Barnett the end date for both the Livernois bridge and Crooks Road construction is Friday, Nov. 2.

Barnett said both projects are on schedule and under budget.

"It's all good news," Barnett said, "I can't wait to turn the calendar to November."

Other openings

  • As of Friday, Oct. 5 all the bridges on the trail network were opened.
  • Barnett also reported as an update to the community that the downtown Rochester Main Street Makeover project is scheduled to finish on Nov. 23.

"It's getting to the end of these updates and I couldn't be more pleased," Barnett said.
