Detroit News to Rochester Hills Voters: We Did Not Endorse Anyone

The newspaper says emails were sent about apparent endorsements.

In an online story with the headline, "Attention, Rochester Hills Voters," The Detroit News on Friday issued a caution about an apparent misunderstanding with a voting table that the newspaper posted online.

"Some candidates in Rochester Hills city elections, or others acting on their behalf, have sent emails stating they are endorsed by The Detroit News," the story stated. "This is not true. The News has not endorsed any candidates in the Rochester Hills election and does not intend to.

"Any statements to the contrary should be disregarded by voters."
