Woman Called 'Traveling Sex Predator' After Assault on Rochester Hills Girl

Police say 22-year-old Baltimore woman traveled to Michigan on Thanksgiving weekend and met up with 15-year-old girl she met online.

A 22-year-old Maryland woman who investigators say flew to Michigan last Thanksgiving and sexually assaulted a 15-year-old Rochester Hills girl she met online has been located, arrested and bound over to Oakland County Circuit Court for trial.

According to a report from the , whose Computer Crimes Unit has been investigating the incident since January, Roseanne Valesco Balagot is being held in the Oakland County Jail on a $75,000 bond. She was charged with criminal sexual conduct in the third degree and waived a pretrial hearing.

Investigators say Balagot, a citizen of the Philippines who lives in Essex, Baltimore, traveled to Michigan over the Thanksgiving holiday, picked up the 15-year-old victim, took her to an area hotel and sexually assaulted her.

The victim's parents notified the sheriff's department when they found evidence of the assault on their daughter's Facebook page, the report stated.

The Baltimore County Police Department, along with the FBI, assisted the sheriff's department in locating and subsequently arresting Balagot.

Sheriff Michael Bouchard praised his department's Computer Crimes Unit for
"removing a sexual predator from the street."

"It also serves as a reminder to all parents to educate their children and teen-agers of the dangers of internet predators and electronic media, and to closely monitor their use of the internet, as well as their behavior," Bouchard said.

A trial date has not been set.

On a side note, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the hotel where this took place was that darn Red Roof off of M59 at Crooks. I hear of so many people catching cheaters, prostitution stings, and pervs congregating there, it might be about time to shut the place down!

how about police your childs fb page! i do and before any of the crazies start saying it is an invasion of privacy oh well guess what when you are under 18 and live at home there is NO privacy!! thats your JOB as a PARENT!! sure your kids will hate you now but gues what?? they will love you later! my kids fb pages were created by me and i have all info and passwords and check them almost daily! when something is objectionable i take it away and change the password period this has got to stop and parents need to become less self absorbed and see what children are doing this seems to be a big problem in Rochester! my kids friends too many seem to have parents that are not involved or just dont care!
