Woman Arrested and Jailed for Assault; More Vandalism

Oakland County Sheriff's Office in Rochester Hills reports vandalism continues.

A 42-year-old Rochester Hills woman was arrested and jailed early Monday after threatening her husband with a scalpel, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report.

Deputies were called to a home in the 2200 block of North Fairview around 1:30 a.m. Monday by a boy who was sitting on the front porch and told deputies that his parents were inside arguing. "The wife admitted she pulled out a scalpel and threatened her husband with it," the report stated.

The woman was arrested for felonious assault and lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

More vandalism

For, vandals armed with spraypaint hit various targets across Rochester Hills.

  • On Friday night a homeowner in the 900 block of Majestic reported someone broke eight landscape lights; the homeowner found two broken bottles of Mike's Hard Lemonade on the back porch.
  • On Saturday night, someone spray-painted a swastika graphic and a depiction of "male genitals" on two streets signs in the 600 block of Spartan, according to a sheriff's office report. A street sign on nearby Lake Forest Drive also was covered in spray-painted graffiti.

A report released Tuesday details additional vandalism from last week. On Monday, someone spray painted graffiti on property of Meadow Brook Christian Church on Walton Boulevard. The graffiti was "mostly obscene language, vulgar drawings and statements that were anti-Christianity," according to a sheriff's report.
