Troy Woman in Multi-Car Accident Dies

2 involved in Oct. 23 crash remain hospitalized as crash remains under investigation.

A 20-year-old Troy woman involved in a multi-car accident last week in Rochester Hills was pronounced dead Monday at McLaren-Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

Hailey Marie Brouillet, 20, of Troy was involved in a multi-car accident on Oct. 23 at Rochester and Hamlin roads.  Brouillet was driving southbound on Rochester Road in a 2005 Saturn L300 when she was rear-ended by a 65-year-old woman from Roseville driving a 2014 VW Jetta.

According to Sheriff's officials, Brouillet's vehicle then struck a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica driven by a 55-year-old Rochester Hills resident, which was then pushed into a 2013 Dodge Durango driven by a 59-year-old Farmington Hills resident.

The Jetta driven by the Roseville woman then continued southbound on Rochester Road and rear-ended a 2004 Mazda 6 driven by a 38-year-old Huntington Woods resident. The Mazda then struck a 2007 Ford Freestyle driven by a 74-year-old Rochester Hills resident. The Freestyle then struck a 2001 Lexus ES300 driven by a 68-year-old Auburn Hills resident.

According to Sheriff's officials, alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation. Sheriff's officials have indicated a medical condition with the driver of the Jetta might have prompted the accident.

According to the Oakland Post, Brouillet was a student at Oakland University and 2011 graduate of Troy High School.

The driver of the Jetta and the Chrysler Pacifica remain hospitalized at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
