Stolen Vehicle Recovered After Crash in Rochester Hills

Suspect also wanted in connection with embezzlement at fast food establishment in Rochester Hills.

A 17-year-old Rochester Hills resident is in custody after an accident Monday involving a stolen vehicle, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

According to the department, deputies were dispatched Monday afternoon to the area of Dequindre and Hamlin roads for a report of a car accident causing property damage, where two occupants inside the vehicle causing the accident fled the scene on foot. 

When deputies checked the status of the vehicle, they found it had been reported stolen on Oct. 20.

The Rochester Hills resident believed to be responsible for the vehicle theft and accident, whose gender was not identified by the department, was taken into custody after walking in the area of Hamlin and Ryan roads in Shelby Township. The person also was wanted in connection with an embezzlement cast at a fast food chain location in Rochester Hills, according to the department. The suspect was taken to Oakland County Jail pending warrants.
