Small Fires Reported at Rochester Hills Park, School

A trash can and two portable bathrooms were destroyed in Tuesday afternoon incidents.

Two small fires Tuesday afternoon drew the and the to the nearby scenes.

The first occurred in a trash can at . When officials arrived at 4:30 p.m. they found park rangers putting out the fire. The trash can was destroyed, but the fire did not damage anything nearby.

Just moments later, according to a news release, another fire was reported on the grounds of , about a mile from the park. When officials arrived at the school, they found two portable bathrooms on fire. The fire department extinguished the fires; the portable bathrooms were deemed a total loss.

witnesses reported seeing two 10- to 13-year-old boys leaving the school area on bikes, according to the news release. A search of the area was unsuccessful and the investigation continues.
