Sheriff's Officials Investigating Fatal Crash in Rochester Hills

Crash kills 61-year-old Rochester Hills man.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal car crash Friday on northbound Crooks Road south of Hamlin Road in Rochester Hills, according to Sheriff's officials.

According to the department, Eric Ladell Walker, 61, of Rochester Hills, was killed in the Friday morning accident. Walker was driving a 2011 GMC Terrain on northbound Crooks Road south of Hamlin at about 10:23 a.m. when his vehicle ran off the road toward the right and continued northbound off the roadway, striking a traffic sign and light post. Walker was found in the vehicle unresponsive and was taken to Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills as crews performed CPR. He was pronounced dead at 11:01 a.m.

According to Sheriff's officials, Walker might have had a medical problem prior to the crash and alcohol was not a factor in the accident. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
