Rochester Fire Department Fights Snow, Too

Firefighters were on the scene Wednesday afternoon to remove snow from part of the library roof.

They don't just put out fires – the battles snow and ice, too.

Falling snow forced the to close its drive-through window Wednesday, so the fire department came to the rescue to remove a buildup of snow from the roof.

"Pretty much everything we can do we'll try to do at least once," said Bob Tyrell, safety officer for the fire department. Tyrell said snow was falling on the cars of some library patrons who were waiting in the drive-through line to return books.
